Made in Japan, Ice Bear King Single Grit Water Stones offer faster cutting, than other types of stones, and superior polishing ability, with a number of fine polishing grits not available in other stone types. 

Ice Bear King Water Stones are ideal for anyone looking for fast cutting and pristine, polished knives. 

One of the biggest benefits of a water stone, over an oil stone, is that it's softer and therefore promotes faster cutting. Water is used instead of oil to remove the swarf (the metal particles created during sharpening). Working with an oil stone is less messy and you also save on costs by not having to use oil.

Available Grits: 

800 Grit: Fairly slow sharpening rate, leaving the edge with frosted appearance. Sharpeness equivalent to majority of factory edges. 

6000 Grit: Leaves edge polished to the naked eye.

10,000 Grit: Extremely slow sharpening but achieves the sharpest edge possible. Leaves mirror edge without visible flaws.
